Wooclap, EdTech leader, raises €25 million from Impact Expansion to accelerate its international growth
A €25 million funding round led by Impact Expansion, an impact fund focused on education, health, and climate. This is a major boost for the Wooclap active learning platform, which is already used by more than 50 million learners worldwide
A major milestone. With the support of Impact Expansion, Wooclap will accelerate its international growth, focusing primarily on the North American higher education market and the corporate training sector. Equally crucially, this investment will enable Wooclap to lead the next wave of innovation in active learning by developing AI-based features that enhance learner engagement.

The Wooclap platform enables higher education institutions and businesses to boost learner engagement and retention, both in person and online. By transforming passive lectures into interactive experiences, Wooclap provides teachers and trainers with tools to make learning more active, effective, and impactful. Already recognized by more than 50 million learners, Wooclap has become a global benchmark in active pedagogy.
The story began in 2015 in Brussels. Sébastien Lebbe and Jonathan Alzetta created Wooclap with the support of Olivier Verdin. Based on cognitive science, the platform offers dozens of interactive activities (multiple-choice questions, polls, word clouds, brainstorming, image annotations, etc.) that capture learners’ attention, measure their understanding in real time, and reinforce skill acquisition. Intuitive and powerful, the platform integrates seamlessly with existing tools (LMS, PowerPoint, Microsoft Teams, etc.). It should be noted that Wooclap is also behind Wooflash, a complementary microlearning application optimized by AI and spaced repetition, designed to help learners memorize knowledge.
