New category of high-performance IA eyewear for sports enthusiasts and brand fans alike
As part of their long-term partnership, and following the success of Ray-Ban Meta, EssilorLuxottica and Meta are creating a new range of IA eyewear under the Oakley brand. First collection: Oakley Meta HSTN.
Optical professionals are convinced: connected eyewear could become the new smartphone. Meta’s acquisition of a 3% stake in EssilorLuxottica, the world leader in the sector, would give substance to this prediction.
The ambition? To offer a new category of high-performance AI eyewear that combines Meta’s advanced AI technologies with Oakley’s signature design and PRIZM lenses to transform the way consumers experience their best sporting performances as well as their everyday lives.
A new milestone, then, following the success of Ray-Ban Meta, which defined this category and leads global sales of AI eyewear, with millions of consumers equipped.
Oakley Meta HSTN, the first collection, offers key technological enhancements such as ultra-HD 3k video recording, for sharper images and higher resolution than Full HD (1080p). Users can listen to their favorite music and podcasts thanks to powerful ear-free speakers, invisibly integrated into the glasses.
Refined light spectrum
Oakley Meta HTSN can operate for up to 8 hours in standard use and up to 19 hours in standby mode, thanks to 40% longer battery life. They come with a charging case that provides up to 48 hours of on-the-go recharging.
Consumers can equip their Oakley Meta HSTN with lenses featuring Oakley’s PRIZM technology, one of the most advanced innovations in optical lenses. This revolutionary technology fine-tunes the light spectrum, intensifying colors while filtering out visual distractions. This brings out details with greater clarity, enabling wearers to see better, react faster and perform at their best.
Six frame and lens tint combinations
For fifty years we’ve been pushing the boundaries of what’s possible, looking for solutions to unsolved problems,” comments Caio Amato, Global President, Oakley. With Meta, we’re giving new contours to reality. It’s not just about improving performance, it’s about amplifying human potential like never before. It’s the first chapter in a new era for sport.”
Glasses for listening to music, creating videos and benefiting from the power of an AI assistant… The Oakley Meta HSTN collection includes six frame and lens tint combinations, designed to be compatible with corrective lenses for everyone’s eyesight. Prices will be around 400 EUR.
